The recipe calls for chilling the dough overnight. I would say this does make it easier to roll out but you don't necessarily have to do this step. We made half of the crackers with a fresh batch of dough though we did have to use a lot of extra flour to keep it from sticking.
I let the kids use their play dough cookie cutters of fun animals and shapes. It was a little like making sugar cookies. I then chilled the rest of it and the next day made these basic squares. I also added cinnamon and sugar to the tops of some. Guess which ones were the most popular?
Put them in an airtight container and store for up to a week. Enjoy!
